Saudi Arabia set to invest $200 billion to build gigantic solar project
Recently, the Saudi Arabian government announced its plans to work with SoftBank to build a massive solar project in the desert.Despite the country’s large supply of sunshine, its renewable energy capacity remains extremely small.
Following the country’s Vision 2030 goal to diversify the economy away from its traditional reliance on oil, the project is expected to vastly increase Saudi Arabia’s energy capacity.
Amazon makes plans to Intensify Sustainability Efforts
Amazon, via its sustainability team, has recently set up ambitious goals on renewable energy for itself. Amazon recently launched its largest wind farm in Texas that contributes over 1 million megawatt hours (MWh) of clean energy to the grid. The company is currently working to install 50 solar rooftops across our fulfillment center network by 2020.

A recent private sector initiative to help fund sustainable natural rubber plantations in heavily degraded land areas of Indonesia is set to aid land rehabilitation at the same time bringing about profit. The initiative, issued by the Tropical Landscapes Finance Facility (TLFF) is a multi-tranche USD 95 million sustainability bond.
