Dangote Flour Mills, others donate N70m threshers to wheat farmers

Dangote Flour Mills and other flour millers on Tuesday donated 50 units of multi-crop thresher machine worth N70 million to wheat farmers to boost Nigeria’s self-sufficiency in wheat production. Mr John Coumantaros, the Chairman, Flour Milling Association of Nigeria (FMAN), made the disclosure at the presentation of the equipment in Lagos.

Commission Puts Nigeria’s Official Population At 198m

The National Population Commission (NPC) has put Nigeria’s current population at 198 million people with urban population growing at an average annual growth rate of about 6.5 per cent. Hershey’s to launch $500mn sustainable cocoa initiative in West Africa

The Hershey Company (Hershey’s), has announced its plans to invest US$500mn into cocoa sustainability by 2030. The Cocoa For Good program with target countries in West Africa, including Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire – which contribute to approximately 70% of the firm’s global supply. Hershey’s claim that its initiative with focus on poverty, poor nutrition, at-risk youth, and vulnerable ecosystems.
