FG Declares State of Emergency in WASH Sector

Shell Moves To Stop Gas Flaring In Nigeria

AngloDutch Oil Company, Shell has again emphasised its commitment to the elimination of routine gas flaring in Nigeria.

The company conveyed this in its annual sustainability report where it said In Nigeria, flaring from Shell Petroleum Development Company’s (SPDC) joint-venture (Shell interest 30%) facilities fell by close to 90% between the start of its gas reduction programme in Nigeria between 2002 and 2017.

Nigeria: FG seeks new aviation strategies for sustainable development

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha said in Lagos on Monday that such strategies include holistic planning for defined development targets, effective and efficient financing plan, and successful implementation.

Declaring open the 59th Airports Council International (ACI) Africa Conference, he said, the full implementation of the Nigeria Aviation Sector Roadmap will result in the transformation of business and economic growth in the sector.

Debut Africa Blue Economy Forum Announced

The first Africa Blue Economy Forum is to be held in London on June 7 and 8, 2018 to coincide with World Oceans Day. More than 150 delegates and speakers are expected to attend, including government ministers, business leaders, ocean experts and environmental and maritime organisations, to discuss the economic contribution of the African oceans.
