CSR: Ecobank Hands Over Lecture Theatre to Ojukwu Varsity

Ecobank Nigeria Limited has built and handed over a 100 seater ultra-modern lecture theatre to the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University formerly Anambra State University, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The fully furnished theatre at the heart of the Igbariam Campus of the University boasts of state-of-the-art facilities. The multi-purpose CSR project initiated in 2014 is aimed at providing a convenient centre for general students’ academic activities and relaxation.

The vision of the project revolves around creating conducive environment for learning. This is seen as the best way to exhibit a visible, vibrant and enduring CSR. It is also a far-reaching compensation to the learning community for the endless years of unwavering patronage.”

Ecobank’s CSR activities are guided by the principle of giving back and contributing effectively to the communities in which it operates. The Bank is committed to contributing to societal ventures that enhance the lives of the people in the continent.

Also, the plan to open a cash centre in the campus to mitigate the hardship currently being experienced by the university community in accessing banking services was disclosed.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Fidelis Okafor, commended Ecobank for partnering with the university, stressing that, the project would further enhance the partnership and relationship that have existed between both institutions for a long time.
