Denmark to Invest Sh15bn in SDG-Focused Projects in Kenya


Denmark has signified interest in investing Sh15bn in local projects in Kenya, in order to support the country in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The purported investment will be done over five years running from 2015.

The country is also funding the Kenya Climate Innovation Centre to incubate enterprises, as well as improve the pace of commercialization and scale-up of climate change related enterprises.

Speaking on the development, Denmark’s Ambassador to Kenya, Mette Knudsen explains that the country’s focus is on green growth and employment with the purpose of assisting Kenya in transforming its way of growing manufacturing practices and agriculture in a direction that is environmentally sustainable, which will also provide healthy jobs for Kenyans.
