Poverty Eradication: Empowerment of Niger Delta Youth.

An MOU was signed by The federal government and United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).

The aim of the initiative is to fast-track the training and empowerment of ex-Niger Delta agitators enlisted in the Presidential Amnesty Programme; linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

It also seeks to reduce poverty by 2030 and will last for 3 years.

The training would cover subsea welding, agribusiness, sea-faring as well as empowerment and job placements for trained delegates.
