The Global Energy Network Institute is hosting a global solutions event on sustainability from August 14-17 with the City of Palo Alto Sustainability Department.
Based on the design thinking of Buckminster Fuller, this demonstration of the Silicon Valley SIMCenter, an immersive visualization facility that enables participants be surrounded visual data, trends, graphics and GIS maps; is designed to tackle the many interconnected challenges we face and offer an alternative, comprehensive way of looking at these issues.
The focus of the program will be on energy, water and transportation issues. Each day will be independent: moving from a global focus, to regional, local and then the UN Sustainable Development Goals on the last day.
With this data and global perspective, business leaders, academics, investors and policy-makers ways to collaborate across disciplines, find best practices to implement actions in a timely and efficient manner.
Participants will be able to literally “see” past trends, future projections, and compare choices for the future. The aim of the event is to visualize sustainable solutions to global and local problems in a new way so we can make informed choices quicker.
