The Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability week which is the first of its kind in the Financial sector, will witness the culmination and consolidation of the bank’s interventions in social responsibility, promoting random acts of kindness across 800 communities to reignite acts of kindness in our society. The CR&S Week is an avenue for the bank to reinforce its role in driving sustainable development in its host communities.
The major highlights of the 2018 commemoration include visits to orphanages and less-privileged homes across sub-Saharan Africa and United Kingdom, career counseling for over 3,000 students; provision of vision screening and eye glasses for 2000 people; and empowerment of over 500 widows. These events are tailored towards re-orientating the society along the right values.
The week-long event, which is said to commence on the 19th of June to end on the 23rd of June, is being commemorated across is business communities in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra-Leone and Senegal. This act is a reflection of its brand promise to always put the needs of stakeholders first.
The event themed, ‘Touching Lives; You First’ would offer First Bank employees the opportunity to give their time and resources in the service of humanity. The initiative will amplify the bank’s employee giving and volunteering scheme in order to create sustainable impact, touch lives and make societies a better place to live.
