GERMANY PARTNERS PAKISTAN ON RENEWABLES

It has been confirmed by the German Ambassador to Pakistan that there will be a partnership on renewable energy that will focus on financial and technical aid for projects as it concerns hydropower between the two countries.

This partnership will establish a medium to encourage the sharing of knowledge and cooperation between the stakeholders in both the public and private sectors. Germany will also help in making policies and regulations that will assist the renewable power sector in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s potential, especially in renewable energy has started attracting investors from China and Europe. So far, over $3billion have been committed into the renewable energy sector in Pakistan with letters of interest issued for a solar power capacity of over 1200megawatts
