Celebrating 150 years of existence, Nestle, using the GRI G4 Guidelines and indicators, published the 2015 Creating Shared Value (CSV) report on performance in six (6) major areas: Nutrition, Health & Wellness; Rural Development; Environmental Sustainability; Water; Human Rights & Compliance, and Our people.
Adequately analyzing each focus area, the report states the goals and objectives (both short term and longer term) of each and more importantly, the progress levels in both quantitative and qualitative aspects, using graphs and charts in some areas. The report is particularly interesting and easy to read for any level of reader as it clearly communicates progress quotas against overall objectives for each goal.
In addition, the report features Nestle’s activities towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals as it reveals the five goals the company places priority on: SDGs 2, 3, 6, 12, and 13.
To reflect Nestle’s respect for its stakeholder interests, the report includes a materiality matrix,. The matrix determines the risks and opportunities the company explores in its operations. It also has a special report on its performance in engaging the stakeholders, sharing stakeholders’ recommendations at its several conferences through the year.
In a clear, easy to comprehend, and well represented structure, the report communicates the impacts of Nestle’s activities on its societies of operation, which a GRI G4 report aims to present.
