#InPrint: Women and Sustainability in Business: A Global Perspective

In anticipation of #InternationWomensDay tomorrow it was important to include a book written by a woman.

According to the author, this book brings together research from various countries, raising up challenges faced by women in sustainable businesses. She analyses the practices of women in sustainable business, in terms of company performance, social responsibility, board management, entrepreneurship, employment, education, management, social sustainability, environmental politics and technology. It equally highlights the differences in the underdeveloped, developing and developed world.

The book also goes further to highlight the role Government plays with respect to giving special consideration when shaping strategies on economic sustainability.

Women’s contribution to business is fundamental to creating a sustainable economy, businesses try to strengthen ‘the female presence’ within their organizations, especially on their boards. Today, sustainable companies cannot survive without strategies involving women. Well-designed strategies from women workers help companies to develop their financial and social sustainability initiatives progressively.

The author, Prof. Dr Kiymet Tunca Caliyurt, is the founder of the International Group on Governance, Fraud, Ethics and Social Responsibility (IGonGFE&SR) and the president of the National-International-Students’ Conference Series on Governance, Fraud, Ethics and Social Responsibility. She also founded the International Women and Business Group, which organizes a global conference that take place once every year.
