Multinational technology company, Google, recently inaugurated a new job search tool for the African market, with the aim of helping employment seekers to find and access relevant job opportunities.
According to sources, some of the functions of the search tool is designed to accommodate a streamlined experience letting them explore, research and find relevant, local job postings faster and easily.
Also, due to the immersive and localized nature of the search experience, users will be able to find the best opportunities based on their specific or specialized needs.
Speaking at a press conference to officially launch the job search tool, Google South Africa country director, Luke Mckend explained the need for better search capabilities for those seeking work as it exposes job seekers to open opportunities whilst helping more people to Grow with Google.
He reiterated that the new tool part of the organization’s broader commitment to improve economic opportunities for job seekers and employers through Google technologies in partnership with the broader employment industry.
Currently, this functionality is only available in South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya at the moment; nevertheless, it will be expanded to other African markets in due course.
