Sustainability has evolved to not just on environment but also on products. Consumer based companies who have this in mind employs it on their culture and showcase it through the products they make.
Companies like Coca cola and Mars in January made a pledge in World Economic Forum to make all its packaging “recyclable, re-usable or compostable within the next eight years.
The Fifth largest food and Beverage company in the world- “Kraft Heinz” has also keyed into this same pledge as was seen from the statement below made by its CEO -Bernard Hees.
Kraft Heinz has made initial progress by reducing packaging weight by 50,000 metric tonnes across its operations. Its European arm is working on making the popular Heinz Tomato Ketchup bottle more sustainable by using recycled material that can be used again as packaging.
According to management, the organization owes current and future generations who call this planet ‘home’ to find better packaging solutions and actively progress efforts to improve recycling rates.
