The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), officially known as ‘Transforming Our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’, are an intergovernmental set of aspiration goals with 169 targets. The Goals as contained in paragraph 54 United Nations Resolution of September 2015 bother on a broader intergovernmental agreement that, while acting as the Post 2015 Development Agenda (successor to the Millennium Development Goals), builds on the Principles agreed upon under Resolution popularly known as ‘The Future We Want’.
Several programmes have been organized by governments and stakeholders alike to achieve the agenda 2030. One of such is the United Nations Staff System College (UNSSC) Course On The 2030 Agenda For Sustainable Development.
This online course introduces participants to key conceptual and practical aspects of sustainable development. It also focuses on the new elements of the Agenda 2030; on how to implement and develop strategies to localize it; and on the role of data in the review and followup framework of the new development agenda.
