We need to go GREEN

Nowadays, we hear people talking about going green. The truth is that, at some point everyone will have to follow with the green movement. This is because at the rate we are going, the earth is simply not ecological. It is likely that in few years to come, we will begin to lack certain natural resources that are necessary in order for us to survive. This is the main reason there are so many people fixated on the green buildings campaign.  But then, what is a green building?

The model green building would be a building development that would allow the preservation of most of the natural environment around the project site. It is an outcome of a plan which emphasizes on increasing the utility of resource use — energy, water, and materials —and at the same time, decreasing building impacts on human health and the environment. The construction and operation will support a healthy environment for all involved, and it will not disrupt the land, water, resources and energy in and around the building. This is the actual definition of a green building.

Why is going green so important?

It helps to improve the quality of living by improving the health of the occupant; the growing use of synthetic materials, thinners and mechanical systems of environmental control within buildings carry threats to the environment and to personal well-being. It also improves air and water quality.

We all need to act fast, and take maximum advantage of the important benefits while helping to preserve the environment and the planet.
