Having concluded a four-year citizenship plan, Barclays has published an 11-target performance summary for the outcome of its 2012-2015 Citizenship Plan. The company boasts of meeting ten (10) out of the eleven (11) targets. Jes Staley, the Chief Executive of the British multinational banking and financial services company reiterated without mincing words, the mind set he intends to reinvigorate in everyone through a series of well strategized citizenship plans.

Some of the highlights of the summary include providing over 190000 people with business advice, exceeding the 120000 attendees target for the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Support event, having an unbelievable ninety-nine percent (99%) staff compliance as against a target of ninety-seven percent (97%) compliance by 2015. Paramount among these highlight performances is the thirty-seven percent (37.3%) reduction in global emission as against a ten percent target.

Having triumphantly achieved all of these and more, Barclays is now preparing to launch the 2016 chapter of the plan which is expected to be an evolution. This ‘evolution’ will be aligned with Barclays’ strategy, competitive advantage and geographical footprint.
