170

The creation of the United Nations Six Principles for Responsible Investments (PRI) in April 2006 birthed the incorporation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues into investment decisions, which over 1,000 investment institutions have signed up to. In order to further strengthen the performance of these principles, Carnstone Partners in this report present ten (10) recommendations to improve the performance of the PRI governance structure/Framework.

The review discloses the complications and confusions on roles and responsibilities of the council; the board and several committees, which plague the present governance structure and necessitate the review; thus, stressing the urgency.

Revealing the series of interviews conducted, comparison of governance structures of other international organisations, and corresponding guidelines, amongst other methods; the publisher eventually prescribes ten (10) recommendations, classified evenly under structure & process and performance. The recommendations have been designed to play out from 2015.
