SCA Named among the World’s Most Sustainable Companies

Since the world moved its attention to sustainability while adopting the SDGs, governments have continuously been looking for ways to achieve the 17 global goals with the aid of private companies.

Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget is making a forward way in sustainable working methods. The company has been recognized by Dow Jones Sustainability Index, The Carbon Disclosure Project Leadership Index and FTSE4GOOD, to have a heart for sustainability.

SCA’s aspirations and achievements have been highlighted in its Sustainability Report published in 2015. The company is proud of its achievement and will continue to strive to make more improvements. SCA has been committed to planting of trees by replacing all the hardwoods used in making its toilet tissues on a ratio of three to one.

Also, it has reached out to about two million people of all age groups in 2015. It is also committed to general education and improving the quality of lives of individuals.  Besides, the company is involved in community initiatives, the reduction in carbon emissions and improvements of hygiene situations.

The senior Vice-President for sustainability at SCA, Kersti Strandqvist said that creating value for customers and stakeholders and minimizing the impact on the environment is a part of the business model of the company, thus, showing commitment in all its involvement is a goal.
